For me, this was a great gathering. I spent a lot of time behind the slide deck :) But I was so grateful that everyone was able to come together in the work of anti-racism. I appreciated the time to reflect on my own bias and what I can do to push forward in being an ally.

Hi! I'm not sure if I am doing this right :) But! I once used an I-Message to break up with an abusive boyfriend. I was worried that he would react violently and the I-Message actually helped him to stay calm, see my need for safety, and leave without and verbal or physical instances. I was honestly shocked, but I felt that it was a good testament to the power of I-Messages.
